Goodbye 2020!
With 2020 now behind us, I'm looking forward to a new year full of exciting changes. If you follow my Instagram, you've probably noticed that I've changed my shop and username from Chic Sizzle to Chez Elinor to Oh la la Doll Boutique. Originally I had decided that I would keep Chez Elinor for 18" dolls and Oh la la for the smaller dolls, but quickly realised that I really didn't want the hassle of running two shops and two sets of social media. The name Oh la la Doll Boutique appeals to me far more than the other two ever did, so I promise this will be my final brand. So with less ramblings lets get on with all the new changes in store:
#1
I'll be downsizing my AG doll collection. I currently have 19 dolls, maybe 21, I can't keep track of them anymore lol. My goal is to start selling them off this spring. I will be keeping Felicity, Elizabeth, Cecile, Marie Grace and Courtney, all the others will be finding new homes :) I'll be keeping my Wellie Wishers. Instead of sewing only for AG, I will focus more of my sewing projects on smaller dolls such as AGAT and Ruby Red.
#2
My sewing area will be moving from the living room into the spare bedroom. As it turns out, I'm just too messy to be in the main living space of our house lol. I also have way too many supplies and they are scattered throughout the house, so I'm looking forward to finally having everything in one room. Finally knowing which room an item is in will be a HUGE change.
#3
After 30 something years of sewing, I've decided that the time has come to start a Youtube channel to share the sewing knowledge that I have, also sewing from a lefty's perspective. I'm considering having a weekly doll clothing sew along. I'm aiming to have this up and running by the end of the summer. You can find my channel here.
#4
Technically this is related to #3, but it'll be a Facebook group for people who sew for the smaller dolls. So if you love the smaller dolls and sew for them or want to learn hop on over and join me here on Sewing for dolls with Oh la la Doll Boutique
Those are the major changes i'm planning on this year. However, I also plan on finally taking the pattern making class that I purchased a couple of years ago. Whether I end up designing and selling patterns is questionable at this time. I'd also love to add an embroidery machine to my lineup this year,, fingers crossed!
Have you decided to make any changes this year? I'd love to know what plans you have in the comments below.
