Since my last post, things went downhill. A sale on ebay made me consider giving up altogether. It's every seller's worse nightmare. That one buyer that will do anything to get a refund and keep the product. I had listed a bunch of AG dolls on ebay. Only three sold, but the sale of Joss turned into a nightmare. Two weeks after Joss was shipped out, the buyer wanted a refund because the doll hadn't arrived yet. In her claim to ebay she stated it was taking "way too long". She informed me that even with covid she'd never waited so long for a package to arrive. Apparently the pandemic that the rest of the world was dealing with didn't effect her. The doll arrive's the next day, twenty-four hours after that she's demanding a partial refund because in her opinion the doll isn't new because she was taken out of her box. At this point in time, I remind her that the doll was never photographed in the box so I don't know why she would expect her to still be strapped in her box. Nowhere in the listing did I ever state that the doll was BNIB, nor was she shown in the box. She completely ignores the fact the the doll was never shown in a box therefore her expectations of receiving a doll still in original packaging was absurd. I refused to refund her, given she received exactly what the listing showed plus everything else that came with Joss, again she put a claim into ebay for a refund. A hold was placed on my account. I escalated the claim, gave my side of the store, was told by ebay to submit an abusive buyer ticket and never heard another word. Almost a month later, the hold on my account was released. I'm assuming that ebay sided with me.
Although it was only one sale that went sour, it was enough stress to really give me second thoughts about ever selling anything again. After much deliberation, I decided that I would continue to make and sell doll clothes on Etsy, but I doubt I'll ever sell on ebay again. I'll have to find another way to sell off my American Girl dolls.
The month of June I spent sewing for the RRFF Siblies, I have to admit, I love sewing for these dolls. They're definitely more challenging to sew for than the bigger dolls, but I'm addicted! I currently have four country girl dress ensembles and a few 40's style dresses listed on etsy for the Siblies, along with a few 40's dresses for RRFF.
The weather has been against me, so I still have more country girl dresses for the siblies to photograph and list if the sun ever comes out. For now these are the dresses available in the shop.
